Binding allows for a complete and professional finish to your books or documents. There are a few crucial things to consider before choosing which binding method is right for you. Thankfully, this post will help you understand the basics, and pros and cons of each method.
There are two majour categories of binding:
Punch and Bind
This is done by punching a pattern of holes on the side of the book, and then binding it all together with a spine, usually plastic or wire. The spine goes through the holes and keeps the pages together.
Sort and Bind
The second category is the Sort and Bind. This is often done with heat, also known as thermal binding. The paper of your book is placed inside a spine, and onto a heater. Adhesive is warmed up and binds the pages together. This can be done for both soft and hard covered books, with no punching required.
